So. You broke your screen. And you wish you hadn’t.
Is it fixable? Yes.
Will it cause pain, suffering, and gnashing of teeth? It would have. But you’ve found this post. This post has a secret weapon:
iPhone 4s Screw Chart and Parts Location Sheet.pdf
That printable PDF is the perfect tool you need to fix your phone. Here is why:
The iPhone 4 and 4s is my LEAST favorite phone to work on. There are SO many different sized screws inside. Not to mention that the screen is the absolute last part you take out of the phone. Who was the Apple tech who thought “Hmm… What part is most likely to break on a cell phone? The screen? Oh cool, lets make it the hardest piece to take out!” Luckily Apple either fired that guy, or he got smart because the iPhone 5, and 5c screens can be swapped in just minutes.
Anyway, with that handy PDF, all you need to do is print it out, and lay it next to you so you have a place to put all of the parts that come out of the phone. This way you don’t lose anything and everything goes back where it belongs. Because this phone has been out for a few years, the screens and other replacement parts just keep getting cheaper and cheaper.
(The iPhone 4 is almost the exact same as the 4s, just 2 or 3 different screw locations. But you will be able to get away with using the same PDF.)
Like always, If you have ANY questions at all leave them in the comments below. Also, if you need any parts, let me know and I can link them for you.
